En Español       In Chinese

WHAT:

Sunset Ave. and Orange Ave. will be closed to vehicle traffic and pedestrians at the railroad crossing immediately north of Valley Boulevard in the City of Industry. The closures are required to begin major construction on an Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority (ACE) project to elevate the railroad mainline and build bridges over the street at Sunset and Orange Avenues. When it is completed, traffic congestion, potential collisions with trains, and noise from horns on the mainline track will be eliminated.

WHEN:

California Ave. will reopen the night of Thursday, November 29, 2007 and Sunset and Orange Avenues will close later the same night. Sunset Ave., Orange Ave., and the northernmost lane of westbound Valley Boulevard will be closed for approximately 30 months. Most construction will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The project is expected to be completed Summer 2010. Visit www.theaceproject.org or call (888) ACE-1426 for the latest construction/detour updates.

WHAT TO EXPECT :

To avoid traffic delays, motorists are advised to use the following detour routes: Puente Ave. and California Ave. for north-south travel and Valley Blvd. and Nelson Ave. for east-west travel. Valley Blvd. will be open to through traffic during the project. Access to local businesses on Valley Blvd., Sunset Ave., and Orange Ave. will be maintained.
