Construction Alert - City of Pomona
Temple Avenue

Attention LDC Staff & Clients
Temple Avenue train diversion requires construction of soundwalls, state street bridge & audiology lab

WHAT:
The Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority (ACE) will commence construction of soundwalls to reduce train noise impacts at the Lanterman Developmental Center (LDC) campus. To help eliminate traffic congestion and improve safety at the Pomona Blvd. and Temple Ave. crossings, ACE is installing new track across Cal Poly Pomona farmland to divert trains to the railroad adjacent to the LDC. As part of the project, ACE will build railroad bridges across the San Jose Creek and State Street, construct the sound walls and is completing a new LDC audiology lab.
WHEN:
Construction of the soundwalls will commence, as per the schedule previously distributed, on approximately February 27, 2006, and continue for eight to ten weeks. Overall project construction began June 2005, with completion anticipated in Fall 2007. Construction will occur during normal working hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
WHERE:
Soundwall barriers will be constructed between the train tracks and LDC in designated areas along LDC grounds. Soundwalls will be built at five locations: two along the tracks northeast of State Street, one on the south side of the tracks northwest of Commercial St, and two near the vicinity of Plant Operations Trades Building, the Rustic Camp and Richardson Park. See map below for locations.

Special Note

Construction workers will receive special briefings regarding construction safety measures required in areas occupied by developmentally disabled persons. Construction areas will be fenced for safety.
