San Gabriel Valley: SB 1 Funded ACE Projects
The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments supports Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) and its investments in transportation infrastructure.
On April 6, 2017, the California State Legislature passed SB 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act. SB 1 generates new revenues from an increase of 12 cents per gallon in state excise taxes on gasoline as well as increases in the state sales and excise taxes on diesel and vehicle registration fees, including for zero-emission vehicles. SB 1 provides $5.2 billion in new revenues statewide to make road safety improvements, fill potholes and repair local streets, expand public transit, improve highways, and build bridges and underpasses, including two Alameda Corridor-East grade separation projects.
